Heal Palestine – Illinois: A Night of Hope and Generosity for Gaza’s Youth

On March 30, 2024, the southwest suburbs of Chicago witnessed a heartwarming event – the inaugural Heal Palestine – Illinois. This event marked the beginning of a noble mission to bring hope and healing to the youth of Gaza.

The newly established NGO, Heal Palestine, dedicated to providing Health, Education, Aid, and Leadership (HEAL) for Gaza’s youth, successfully raised nearly $100,000, a testament to the compassion and generosity of the community.

A Collective Effort for a Worthy Cause

The success of the Heal Palestine – Illinois event was a result of the collective effort of numerous individuals and organizations.

Sponsors, attendees, volunteers, and supporters came together, united by the desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

A special mention goes to the WBC Cares Middle East chapter, co-chaired by Manal Morrar and Kimberly Spies, whose alliance played a significant role in the event’s triumph.

The highlight of the evening was the auction of a prestigious Green and Gold championship belt, generously donated by the World Boxing Council (WBC).

This unique item garnered the highest bid of the auction, contributing substantially to the funds raised for the cause.

The donation served as a powerful symbol of how collective action can bring about meaningful change and impact the lives of those in need.

Leyan’s Story: A Beacon of Hope and Resilience

One of the most touching moments of the event was the speech delivered by Leyan, a courageous 14-year-old girl from Gaza. Leyan’s story is one of resilience and hope.

Having tragically lost both her legs in a bombing, she is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago, where she recently received her prosthesis.

Despite the challenges she has faced, Leyan remains optimistic and determined to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor to help other children like herself.

Leyan’s words resonated deeply with the audience, “I am deeply touched by the outpouring of support from the community,” she shared. “

Despite the challenges I’ve faced, I am determined to become a doctor one day to help other children like me.”

Her story served as a powerful reminder of the impact that Heal Palestine’s work can have on the lives of children in Gaza.

Building a Brighter Future for Gaza’s Youth

The funds raised at the Heal Palestine – Illinois event will directly impact the lives of children like Leyan. They will provide essential care, resources, and opportunities for these children to heal, learn, and thrive.

The event was not just a fundraiser; it was a beacon of hope, demonstrating the power of compassion and collective action in building a brighter future for the youth of Gaza.

A Night to Remember: A Step Towards Healing and Empowerment

The inaugural Heal Palestine – Illinois event was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved.

It was a night filled with hope, generosity, and a shared commitment to making a difference in the lives of Gaza’s youth.

The event served as a powerful reminder that even in the face of adversity, the human spirit can triumph, and together, we can build a brighter future for those in need.
